What is VoLTE?

Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) is the next step in voice calling technology for mobiles. It allows you to make calls over parts of Telstra’s 4G network. Before VoLTE all of your calls were made over the older 3G network.

Both VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling are now available on all Konec Mobile services so you can enjoy the next generation of voice calling for mobiles.

Why VoLTE?

volte-0

Crystal clear calls

VoLTE gives clearer calls and reduced background noise so callers sound like they are right next to you.

volte-1

Quicker connections

VoLTE supports quicker call connection. The time between tapping to call and being connected is super fast.

volte-2

More multitasking

VoLTE enables simultaneous calls and high speed 4G data connections so you can take a call and Google something at the same time.

What is Wi-Fi calling?

Wi-Fi Calling (sometimes referred to as VoWi-Fi or Voice over Wi-Fi) will allow you to make voice calls over a compatible Wi-Fi connection.

If you are connected to a compatible Wi-Fi connection and Wi-Fi Calling is enabled on your handset, your voice calls will connect over Wi-Fi by default.

Why Wi-Fi calling?

Wi-Fi calling is super convenient when you want to:

  • Extend coverage indoors
  • Call Australia from overseas without incurring international roaming charges
  • Make calls if there’s a network outage or if you are in an area without mobile coverage.
